Mary Jackson: born April 9, 1921 in Hampton, Virginia. She was an American mathematician and aerospace engineer and was NASA’s first black female engineer. She was portrayedby Janelle Monae in the Movie Hidden Figures. During her career she was deemed the most senior title within the NASA engineering department.
